Wow, February was a busy month for the Pyxis team. As a New Orleans-based business, we reveled in the joy and chaos of Mardi Gras. Then 24 hours after it all ended, we hit the road to Pensacola for the 2026 VHMA Management Exchange.
We’ve had a connection with VHMA for nearly five years, but this was our first time attending this particular conference.
Let me tell you something. This conference was amazing, and it is one we will not be missing again.
Why We Love the Management Exchange
To explain why we loved this conference so much, you need to understand the three things that matter most to a vendor when exhibiting:
- Time attendees spend with vendors
- Vendor prominence
- Sessions, which are usually the least important for a vendor, but not in this case
Time Attendees Spend With Vendors
This one is interesting.
Nearly all of the sessions take place in one large room, with vendors forming the perimeter. At the VHMA Management Exchange, you essentially spend the entire conference with attendees.
Official vendor time is somewhat limited, maybe 30 to 45 minutes per day as a rough estimate. But because the show is smaller and more intimate, you really do not need much more than that.
If I had my say, I would add maybe 15 to 20 minutes per day. Anything beyond that would honestly be overkill.
Vendor Prominence
Time with attendees means nothing if they cannot find you.
At a conference this size, that is not an issue.
Every attendee can find you simply by looking around the perimeter of the main room. Unlike larger conferences, there is no getting lost in the shuffle at the VHMA Management Exchange. You are visible. You are accessible. You are part of the conversation.
Sessions
Since when do vendors care about sessions?
Truthfully, we do not always.
Many conferences are packed with sessions that have little overlap with what we do or what our customers actually need. But put us in a room where the sessions speak directly to practice managers and the real challenges they face, and we are all in.
This conference offered an abundance of sessions focused on the real life needs of practice managers. In some cases, the sessions were even led by practice managers themselves.
And as you know, CVPMs are our people.
Spending a few days listening to their pain points, their solutions, and the realities they are navigating every day was invaluable.
Will We Do It Again?
Run, do not walk, the next time VHMA announces that Management Exchange registration is open.
This is one conference you will not want to miss.
I know we will not.
If you’re wondering what you missed out on at the Management Exchange with Pyxis Pro, we’d be happy to schedule a 1:1 live demo to show you!
